Carrollton is preparing for a sweet weekend when they celebrate all things honey during their monthly First Friday celebration.
Alanna Thompson, also known as “Honey Boo Boo.”
The main event of the evening is a Honey Boo Boo look-alike contest, which will take place at 6 p.m. on Court Street.
The contest will be open to anyone ages 1 to 10, with two categories. The first category is glitz, which lets contestants dress up in false eyelashes, manicures and other fashionable ways.
The second category is "home style," which will let entrants dress the way Honey Boo Boo does while at home with her pets. Both categories will be judged the same way.
A trophy, a crown and 10 new $1 bills will be presented for Prettiest Honey Boo Boo, Cutest Honey Boo Boo, Most Original Honey Boo Boo and Grand Supreme Honey Boo Boo.
Registration will run from 5 p.m. until the show starts. For more information, contact Jennifer Munsie at (502) 525-0330.
The River View Farmers Market will also run from 4 to 6 p.m. At the Carroll County Public Library, there will be a reception for Jill Mahoney with music from Steven Grant Smith.
The evening will also feature the Soap Box Derby, which has been rescheduled several times since Fourth of July weekend.
Registration will begin at 6 p.m. and races start at 7 p.m. The race will take place at Fourth and Main streets. The event is sponsored by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.
