This month’s Civil War Round Table meeting will feature a talk on Kentucky’s Civil War Governors.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Madison Visitor Center, 601 W. First St. There is no charge to attend.

Much of the information presented is from Lewis’ new research website, “Civil War Governors of Kentucky Digital Documentary Edition,” an online collection of historical documents associated with the chief executives of the state from 1860 to 1865.

Lewis received a doctorate in history from the University of Kentucky in 2012. He is a specialist in Civil War-era Kentucky.

He helped develop the Kentucky Historical Society’s new Mobile Civil War exhibit and is the author of “For Slavery and Union: Benjamin Buckner and Kentucky Loyalties in the Civil War.” He has written many essays in Civil War History and was a public historian for the National Park Service at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park.
