Thursday, June 27, 2013 11:00 AM
Special events and live music will highlight art galleries and businesses along Main Street during Madison's June Fourth Friday Art Jam.
Art on Main will host an "Alley Art Fair" from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday. The Alley Art Fair is a free outdoor event featuring original artwork and fine crafts by area artists.
The alley is adjacent to the Art On Main gallery and gift shop at 309 W. Main St.
Artists and craftspeople who would like to participate in this free event should contact Teresa Waller at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Village Lights Bookstore will also hold a Poetry Night to celebrate Fourth Friday. The event will begin at 7 p.m.
The reading will be an open mic event and everyone is welcome to participate. The emcee for the evening will be Madison poet Jill Kelly Koren.
Live musicians plan to perform during the Fourth Friday events as well.
Jimmy Davis will be playing on a signature cigar box guitar at Gallery 115, 115 E. Main St. The handmade cigar box guitars are made by Gary Duckworth and hand painted by Eric Phagan.
Stan Attenberger plans to sing near Madison Buy Design, 118 E. Main St. His performance will be outside, weather permitting.
Dave Dwyer plans to play music at the city's gazebo on Main Street, and Luke Folkner will be playing violin in front of All Good Things Soaps and Such, 318 W. Main St.
