Old-fashioned Christmas activities will be on hand at the Lanier Mansion on Saturday, as the state historic site and museum will host its sixth annual "The Spirit of Christmas Past."
The event will run from 2 to 4 p.m.
Gerry Reilly, site manager at the Lanier Mansion, said the event is free to the public.
"This year's program is extra special," Reilly said in a news release. "Because of our sponsors, we are able to offer this year's Christmas event for free. This is great since the Lanier Mansion provides a really grand setting for children wanting to visit Santa."
Santa Claus will be at the event, but he will be dressed as Father Christmas - the Victorian image of Santa Claus - in the north parlor of the mansion.
Children attending will also be able to participate in activities that include making ornaments for the mansion Christmas trees and making Christmas cards.
Local storyteller Bob Hartsaw will share Christmas tales during the program.
The Lanier Mansion State Historic Site is located at 601 West First Street.
