Madison Consolidated High School’s Fine Arts Academy will offer a night of entertainment next week as a fundraiser for the program and to begin a scholarship.

Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” will be presented in concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Opal E. Sherman Auditorium. Students will perform songs and dialogue from the 1957 stage musical for this concert version. In this streamlined production, there will be no sets or costumes.

The popular show, which has been adapted for television and film, features original songs such as “Seventy-six Trombones,” “Shipoopi,” and “Gary, Indiana.”

Choir, dance, jazz band and theater students will all take part in the combined performance. The night will also highlight 2-D and 3-D art students in a juried visual art show. The show, also held in the auditorium, will consist of pieces finished by students in the past year.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and may be purchased the night of the performance. Concessions will be available for purchase.
