Four employees of the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corp.'s Clifty Creek Plant recently celebrated retirements and service anniversaries as announced by plant manager Clifford Carnes.
Gregory A. Chasteen, a coal equipment operator-A, recently received his 35-year anniversary award. Chasteen joined the company July 28, 1977, as a laborer in the Labor Department. In 1979, he transferred to the Yard Department, where he served as a coal equipment operator-A since 2003.
Gary N. Hornsby, production superintendent-operations in the Operations Department, retired, Aug. 1, with 43 years of service to the company. Hornsby joined the company in 1969 and served nearly his entire career in the Operations Department. In 1995, he was promoted to shift operating engineer and in 2008, to production superintendent-operations.
Jerry T. Watkins, operating supervisor in the Operations Department, retired Aug. 1, after 27 1/2 years of service. Watkins joined the company in 1985 and has been a member of the Operations Department since 1986. He was promoted to unit supervisor in 2002 and became an operating supervisor in 2011.
Stephen C. Bennett, an operating supervisor, retired Sept. 1, with nearly 34 years of service to the company. Bennett joined the company in 1978 as a laborer in the Labor Department. In 1979, he transferred to the Operations Department, where he advanced to unit supervisor in 1991 and to assistant shift operating engineer in 1999. In 2011 he became operating supervisor.
