The Madison Tri Kappa Beta Omega chapter is hosting a Chick Flick Night on Thursday, April 25.

The ladies night out begins with a light dinner and Chinese raffle at the Livery Stable at 5:30 p.m. and moves to the Ohio Theatre at 7:15 p.m. The downtown theater will show "Midnight in Paris."

Tickets are $15 and the proceeds will go toward educational scholarships for local students and to the following organizations: Turning Point, Lide White Boys and Girls Club, Pathways, Girls Incorporated, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson County, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, Lifetime Resources, Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter, Library Reading Club, mental health initiatives, fine arts initiatives and Kids' Art Show, among others.

Tri Kappa chairperson Becky Anderson said that the event usually draws around 200 people, and they're hoping for around that number again this year.

"I believe we gave out 11 (scholarships) last year," Anderson said. "You get dinner and then the auction items and movie for $15. We didn't think that's a bad price. We hope we get a lot of people, because the more we make the more we can give away."

Anderson said in a Chinese raffle, participants buy tickets and place those tickets in a bag next to raffle prizes. A ticket is pulled at random and the item is given to the winner.

"It will help with the flow of the raffle," Anderson said.

"It's a lot of fun. The Livery Stable is a beautiful place," Anderson said.

With the movie "Midnight in Paris" playing at the end of the night, Anderson said the whole evening will be Parisian-themed.

"It's just an amazing fun evening. It's just a great way for ladies to get together with their friends," Anderson said.
