The Little Grand Theatre Company will be putting on Spoofydoofs' Funnybone this weekend at the Balcony House of the Ohio Theatre, 105 E. Main St.
The play will be shown Friday at 7p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 7p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children.
The one-act play is for all ages and will last between 45 minutes and an hour.
Laura Ratcliff, president of Little Grand and co-owner of Ohio Theatre, said that the length of the play lends itself to younger people who aren't familiar with seeing a play live.
The show focuses around a Hurry Scurry (an adult who takes things too seriously) who ends up in the world of the spoofydoofs.
"The play is about the spoofydoofs kids who didn't want to follow rules," Ratcliff said. "It's kind of about what happens when the serious finds the not so serious. How they change each other. It's a fun show, it's silly characters. It's characters kids and adults will relate to. It has a good message of acceptance and what your prioities in life are."
Ratcliff said that the show requires a good-sized cast. There are 15 members ranging from kindergarten-aged children to high schoolers. There will also be a few adults in the cast.
Local musician Rusty Bladen will perform songs after the play.
The theatre's next production will be Willabella Witch's Last Spell on March 15, 16 and 17 in the Balcony House of the Ohio Theatre. Auditions will be held Jan 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday Feb 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Jefferson County Library. Three men and five women are needed for the show.
