General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton, Ky., and Friends of Butler will host the last musical group in the park's 2012 concert series Saturday.

The 23 String Band will perform at 7 p.m. on the Butler-Turpin State Historic House lawn for a two-hour concert. Organizers encourage visitors to bring their own lawn chair, but some limited seating will be available. The event is free.

The 23 String Band of Louisville plays a mixture of American traditional music to create its own brand of "original hillbilly music." The group performs entertaining and energetic numbers throughout their concerts that encourages audiences to dance with the "high-octane rock-n-roll energy and triple-distilled oldtimey roots," their website said.

Band members include Chris Shouse on lead vocals and guitar, Scott Moore on fiddle, Dave Howard on mandolin, Curtis Wilson on banjo and T. Martin Stam on bass.

A new line-up for the 2013 concert series is expected to be announced next year.
