Main Street plans to host many musicians and artists during the October "Festive Fall" Fourth Friday Art Jam.

Various Main Street shops, restaurants and local art galleries open extended hours, as musicians perform on the sidewalks of Main Street. Other businesses feature special events throughout the Friday festivities too.

Village Lights Bookstore, 110 E. Main St., will host a Poetry Night as part of the Fourth Friday events from 6 to 9 p.m. Participants may choose to read their own work or the work of a favorite poet. Readers are also welcome to select passages from books on the bookstore shelves. Jill Kelly Koren will serve as the emcee for the Poetry Nights event.

Village Lights Bookstore will also host live music by Jimmy Storms in the Twain Room Saturday. A former member of the Red Skelton Orchestra and backup pianist for Pat Boon, Connie Francis and Fred Astaire, Storms plans to play selections on the Steinway grand piano.

The Madison Art Club, 309 W. Main St., will also feature special events during the Fourth Friday activities. Art in the Alley will feature various artists' work hanging outside in the alley, as well as other artists painting outside from 5 to 8 p.m.

The club will also feature an open house for the Square Deal Art Show Sunday. The show features a square foot canvas painted by various area artists. Refreshments will be served during the show from 4 to 6 p.m.
