The Jimmy Davis Band will perform Friday at the July Music in the Park concert.

The band, which is made up of Jimmy Davis, Kerry Mefford and Scott Caudill, will play what they call a high-energy, funk-infused version of the blues.

The opening act is Dave Dwyer.

Jug Heads Grub Co. and Frazer Dogs will provide food starting at 6 p.m. The opening act will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the Jimmy Davis Band is expected to start at 7 p.m. and play until 9 p.m.

The concert will take place at the Broadway Fountain. Admission is free.

Upcoming Music in the Park concerts include the Slick River Rockets with opening act Bigfoot for President on Aug. 9 and Big Leg Emma with opening act Ryan Nix on Sept. 28.
