"The Night Before Christmas": A live reading of seasonal favorites will begin Dec. 24 at 9 p.m. at Village Lights Bookstore. The readings will be broadcast on WORX 96.7.

A Fairy Tale Christmas: Derby Dinner Playhouse's Children Musical Theatre will present "A Fairy Tale Christmas" Saturdays Nov. 24-Dec. 22. Everything is wonderful in the land of Happily Ever After. Cinderella and Snow White are leading all the fairy tale characters in their preparations for the great Crystal Christmas Ball. The problems start when a new resident arrives to the kingdom and doesn't follow the rules, and someone very important is left off the guest list for the big party. All of the fairy tale characters have to figure out how to work together in time to save the Crystal Christmas Ball and in the process learn how to make new friends. The World Comes to Madison: The Seifert-Short Museum and Learning Center, 113 E. Third St., will display nativities and crèches from around the world during the holiday season. The museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in December and January. It will be closed Dec. 26. Free admission.
Jan Kleopfer and Kevin Carlson: Pottery and photography by Jan Kleopfer and plein air paintings by Kevin Carlson will be on display through December at the Carlson Art Studio and Fine Art Gallery, 301 Jefferson.
On the Wall - The Collection of JoeyG: Works selected from the personal art collection of JoeyG will be on display at JoeyG's through December.
Artsy Fish and Aquarium Show: Will be on display through the month of December at the Switzerland County Visitors Center in Vevay. Bob Saueressig B&W/Color: Will be on display in the Twain Room Gallery at Village Lights Bookstore through December. The exhibit features linocuts and new acrylic paintings created in the oil patch of North Dakota and on the North Country lakes.
William Borden Watercolors: An exhibition of Bill Borden's watercolors will be on display Nov. 4 through Jan. 8 at The Thomas Family Winery. The display will include paintings done overseas and in Madison.
Here Comes the Boom (PG): A high school biology teacher looks to become a successful mixed-martial arts fighter in an effort to raise money to prevent extra-curricular activities from being axed at his cash-strapped school. The films tars Kevin James, Salma Hayek and Henry Winkler.
Skyfall (PG13): In the newest James Bond film, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the treat, no matter how personal the cost. The film stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem and Naomie Harris.
Christmas Classics Series: Will feature "A Christmas Story" from Dec. 14-20.

Jack Reacher (PG13): A homicide investigator digs deeper into a case involving a trained military sniper who shot five random victims. The film stars Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike and Richard Jenkins.
This is 40 (R): Take a look at the lives of Pete and Debbie a few years after the events of "Knocked Up." The film stars Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann and Maude Apatow.
The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey (PG13): A curious Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a group of Dwarves to reclaim a treasure stolen from them by the dragon Smaug. (The film stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen and Richard Armitage)
Rise of the Guardians (PG): When the evil spirit Pitch launches an assault on Earth, the Immortal Guardians team up to protect the innocence of children all around the world. The film features the voice talents of Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, Chris Pine, Jude Law and Isla Fisher.
Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 (PG13): After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in conflict with the Volturi.
Wreck-It Ralph (PG): A video game villain wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives. The animated movie stars the voice talents of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Alan Tudyk and Jane Lynch.
