The Derby Dinner Playhouse will present "Winter Wonderettes" this weekend, and continue showings of the musical through the end of the month.

The play centers on The Wonderettes, who are hired to entertain at the annual Harper's Hardware Holiday Party, but when Santa disappears, the girls must act to save the party.

The show features a score of more than 20 holiday classics. The Derby Dinner Playhouse website describes the "energetic and hilarious musical" as a fun escape from the stress of the holiday season.

The play was written and created by Roger Bean.

Cast list: Jillian Prefach as Missy, Brittany Carricato as Cinty Lou, Cami Glauser as Suzy and Elisabeth Loos as Betty Jean. Sara King is a Missy and Cinty Lou understudy and Jill Sullivan is a Suzy and Betty Jean understudy.

The show is directed by Lee Buckholz.

The Derby Dinner Playhouse will also have a final showing of "Jingle Arrgh The Way! A Christmas Pirate Adventure," on Dec. 21.

It's the holiday sequel to "How I became a Pirate!"

When a message is left in the crow's nest of a pirate ship, it convinces Captain Braid Beard and his crew to travel back to North Beach to recruit Jeremy Jacob on the way to an adventure to the North Pole.

Cast list: Gabe Hughes plays Jeremy Jacob, J.R. Stuart plays Braid Beard, Bill Hanna plays Swill the Pirate, John Vessels plays Sharktooth the Pirate, Kevin Crain plays Pirate Pierre, David Myers plays Max the Pirate and Cary Wiger plays Santa. The play is directed by Tina Jo Wallace.

Tickets to "Jingle Arrgh the Way! A Christmas Pirate Adventure" range between $16 and $21.

Tickets for "The Wonderful Winterettes" range from $36 to $44. The holiday musical will run through the end of December with performances on Thursday through Sunday each week.
