Carrollton Police are searching for a man who attempted to rob a bank on Friday.
The police department received a call Friday about an attempt to rob the First National Bank on Highland Avenue around 4:50 p.m., just minutes before the bank was set to close for the day, Chief Michael Willhoite said.
A man walked into the bank and went to a teller window where he presented a note requesting money, Willhoite said. The bank teller questioned the man, and the man picked up the note and walked out of the bank.
Police are looking for a white male who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, glasses and a hat with the number 18 on it.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information may call the Carrollton Police Department at (502) 732-6621 or leave an anonymous tip online at www.carrolltonpd.net.
