Jefferson County's role in World War II
Wednesday, September 11, 2013 11:00 AM
The Jefferson County Historical Society has a new exhibit that showcases local involvement in World War II.
The exhibit was created by Julie Curtis and Ron Grimes and includes uniforms, photographs, medals, ration cards, documents and other memorabilia from the Historical Society collections and archives.
The exhibit was completed in time to coincide with this week's visit and daily tours of the LST-325 ship in Madison.
Admission to the Historical Society will be half price today through Monday. Active duty service members as well as veterans and children under 16 years old will be admitted free on those days.
