A Lexington man is suing the owners of a pit bull after the dog allegedly bit off part of his pinky finger.
Alvin Wise filed the lawsuit against the dog's owners, Neal McClanahan and Sean Ross, in Circuit Court on Monday.
The suit alleges the pit bull crossed into Wise's property in the 8400 block of West State Road 356 and attacked him by biting his right hand, amputating the tip of Wise's small finger, according to court records.
Wise's complaint said the two owners were negligent by not properly restraining their animal. He is seeking damages for medical expenses.
