More donors needed for gift program
Thursday, December 20, 2012 10:00 AM
The Jefferson County Master Christmas Assistance List has seen a overwhelming response from the community, organizers say. But with Christmas only a few days away, there are still about 20 children in need of gifts.
This year's list indentified 678 children, and as of Wednesday, the Salvation Army and Clearinghouse of Jefferson County reported that the drive is near its goal.
Those interested in donating to the program are asked to consider the following items:
Girls clothing - size 12-18 months
Boys coats - size 7/8 or 10/12
Girls coats - size 2T to 10
Toys - age 12 months to 2 years
Gifts for teenagers such as, gift certificates (fast food), make-up, jewelry.
Drop off items at the Salvation Army, 331 E Main St., Madison. For more information, call Lt. Emily Phelps or Nancy Cutshaw, (812) 265-2157.
