Angel tree needs donors

The Salvation Army's angel tree program is under way with hopes of helping more than 250 local children in need this holiday season.
This year, the trees are located at Walmart, Walgreens and Kroger.
To adopt an angel, remove one of the 257 angels - which each represents a child - from a tree, purchase gifts of clothing or toys and return those gifts to the Salvation Army, 331 East Main St., Madison.
In addition to the tree, local school systems, churches, police, fire departments and other organizations are adopting families for the holidays.
To date, 357 Jefferson County children are on the list of families to receive help this Christmas, and the Clearinghouse is collecting lists from organizations to add to that number.
If a business, church, organization, or family would like to adopt a family this Christmas or donate funds to the cause, please contact Molly Dodge, Clearinghouse project director at (812) 599-1996 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
