Community Foundation plans move to old city hall
Saturday, March 23, 2013 5:00 AM
The Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County will hold its Annual Report to the Community at its future location, the old city hall, 416 West St. on April 17.
The event will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and the public is invited to attend.
"We won't be moving from our current location at 214 E. Main St. until mid-June, but we thought our future location would be a wonderful place to hold this year's event," said Bill Barnes, president & CEO.
"Unlike years past, we won't have a formal program. It will be more of an open house and an opportunity to celebrate this great news," he said.
"Our Community Foundation has been in existence for nearly 22 years," said Bonnie Hare, the incoming board chairwoman. "The first meetings to discuss and organize the Community Foundation were held in Old City Hall so we certainly feel a connection to this beautiful building."
The mission of the Community Foundation is to build a strong, vibrant community by helping donors provide perpetual funding for the people, projects, and passions of Jefferson County.
