Saturday, November 02, 2013 5:00 AM
King's Daughters' Health plans to hold a ground-breaking ceremony for its new Cancer Treatment Center this month.
The ceremony will be at 5 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the hilltop hospital campus, 1373 E. State Road 62, on the northeast side of the hospital where the building will be located.
Construction on the new Cancer Treatment Center will begin in January 2014 with completion of the project expected by January 2015.
When finished, the new 15,000-square-foot center will include seven infusion rooms and two private infusion rooms, four exam rooms, two treatment rooms, a CT simulator, a new, advanced linear accelerator for radiation treatments, treatment planning and consultation rooms and an outdoor garden near the infusion areas.
Wehr Constructors of Louisville, the general contractor for the new hospital, will also serve as the general contractor for the cancer center project.
