A Madison man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison Thursday after taking a deal with federal prosecutors to child pornography charges.

Steven Goins, 41, pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography and possession of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint, agents with the FBI found hundreds of images and videos available on an online file-sharing site and were able to connect some of those files to Goins.

Authorities tracked the IP address used in connection to the site to lead them to Goins. Images included pictures of children between the ages of 2 and 5.

After serving his time in prison, Goins will be placed on lifetime supervised probation.
