Canaan resident Kenny Miller was selected as the new member of the Canaan Community Academy School Board on Thursday.

The board for the charter school had been operating with six members since Terry Rowlett stepped down before the start of the school year. Miller will join Gale Ferris, Stacy Gray, Dean Adams, Rick Clark, Candi Risk and Berry Smith. All members of the board are volunteers and do not receive a salary.

Also during the meeting, Chief Academic Officer Deena Schafer reported that the school has an enrollment of 95 students, including four new students. Two of the new students are from Southwestern, one is from Madison Consolidated Schools and the other had been homeschooled.
