Police: Death likely a suicide
Wednesday, October 31, 2012 11:00 AM
Indiana State Police said a Lexington man died Tuesday of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Troopers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Dawson Smith Road after receiving reports of a possible domestic dispute. John Bowling, a public information officer with the state police, said officers saw a man run out the back of the house with a shotgun.
Officers heard the shotgun fire once, and found Marc A. Burke, 40, unresponsive.
Burke died at the scene as a result of his injuries, police said. Bowling said Burke was the former boyfriend of the resident where police were dispatched.
The investigation is ongoing.
