In April, The Madison Courier reported that graduation rates at Shawe Memorial Junior Senior High School were 85 percent for the 2011-2012 school year. Shawe President Phil Kahn said those numbers, provided by the Indiana Department of Education, were incorrect.

The state had three foreign exchange students who attended the school in 2012 listed as seniors, but they were juniors. When those students did not receive diplomas, the state lowered the school's graduation rate from 100 percent, Kahn said.

"We have been working on this with the state and it obviously took a long time to get it straightened out," Kahn said. "The website should show that the correction has been made and that Shawe had a 100 percent graduation for the school year that ended in 2012."
