The committee members include:
A steering committee for the community-driven Madison/Jefferson County Vision and Action Plan will hold its first meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ivy Tech Community College with a public meeting to follow in the spring.
The goal of the committee is to establish a broad-based vision and action plan to improve quality of life for area residents
The committee is made up of 31 residents from Madison, Hanover and other parts of Jefferson County. It includes educators, business people, and city and county public officials.
The first public meetings will likely take place in early March, according to a news release.
With input from the community and a technical assessment of the county's needs, the committee will draft a vision and action plan for moving the Jefferson County community forward.
The steering committee will work closely with planning Next, a national community planning practice based in Columbus, Ohio.
The committee will meet monthly for the next 10 months.
The FIRST place to start would be get rid of any Republican leadership so this state can move foreword!! There are too many people in Indiana that suffer because of present policy! I have lived in this state for 37 years all the while watching other states progress, while IN fights to preserve old building in lieu of fighting for child rights, jobs, human dignity or affordable housing. Madison is the worst place to live unless you come from money or have plenty. I moved for this reason alone and wish my children would leave the area in favor of better treatment elsewhere!
