WALK FOR LIFE
Monday, May 06, 2013 11:00 AM
More than 100 participants in Saturday's Walk for Life raised $13,513.44 in this year's event. During her pre-walk speech, Choices for Women director Sharyn Hobbs told the crowd that God had allowed the Choices for Women Resource Center to help 23 mothers choose life instead of an abortion, and that 18 clients of the Christian organization have been saved through faith in Christ.
Hobbs said that the organization's partnership with local schools has allowed more than 2,000 students to hear about the benefits of abstinence, through their sexual integrity program called "Pure." According to their website, Choices for Women Resource Center is a non-profit organization that exists to transform the community by creating a culture that embraces sexual integrity and values human life. It provides free and confidential pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, counseling, material assistance as well as the "Earn While You Learn" EWYL program.
EWYL is a weekly one-on-one mentoring program where mothers can participate in educational classes and earn credits, or Baby Bucks that can be spent in the Choices for Women Baby Boutique.
