Madison will honor two World War II veterans Saturday as they reach their final resting place.
Manley Winkley, whose remains were discovered last year in the Republic of Kiribati, will be buried along side his nephew, Lyman Winkley, who died in 1998.
Manley Winkley died during World War II, and his death prompted his nephew to enlist in the military. Lyman Winkley served in World Was II and the Korean War.
Manley and Lyman Winkley will be escorted to Madison from Nashville along State Road 7. They will travel down State Road 7/Lanier Drive until they get to the Madison State Hospital entrance, at which time they will turn right. The route will then head to the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
A ceremony for the two men will begin at 1 p.m.
Fire and police departments will line the streets to welcome the men to town. Members of the public are encouraged to line Lanier Drive to welcome the escort to town.
