A Celebration of the Arts

Terry Holter, of Cincinnati, top, looks at hanging candle holders at Julie Freeman-Burch's Handmade Pottery booth at the 2013 Madison Chautauqua Festival of Art on Saturday. Thousands of locals and visitors made their way through the assortment of booths to see pottery, photography, painting, crafts and more.
Broom maker Shannon Lewis, bottom, a teacher from Ashland, Ky., said he found an old broom making machine while cleaning out a family barn. He started to make the brooms as a side hobby and decided to start selling them when he didn't have room for all of his inventory anymore.
