Choices for Women moving to new location in 2014
Monday, December 30, 2013 10:00 AM
Choices for Women Executive Director Sharyn Hobbs, top, talks to John Todd about where she would like to have shelving installed in the new facility at 304 Jefferson St. Volunteers have been hard at work getting the building ready for the move, which Hobbs said she hopes to have done by the end of January if all goes well. Bottom, Benny Newell paints the trim around a door in the new Choices for Women facility.
Choices for Women provides free pregnancy testing, ultrasound verification, peer counseling, information about pregnancy, fetal development and abortion risks, education on parenting and adoption, post-abortion help, referrals to local help agencies and abstinence education at local schools through the Pure Initiative.
Choices for Women currently operates out of a building at 314 St. Michael's Ave. in Madison.
They are closed through Jan. 1. Their regular hours are noon to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays.
Anyone in need of assistance or looking to volunteer with the renovation work at the new facility, or looking to donate funds can reach Choices for Women by phone at (812) 273-0400.
