Ann Leland's rubber ducky is the one
Tuesday, July 01, 2014 11:00 AM
Miss Regatta Hayley Franklin drops rubber ducks onto the slide at Crystal Beach Pool for the inaugural Rubber Duck Regatta on Monday.
The event was part of this week's Regatta Festival. More than 200 ducks were sold at $5 each. Ducks were sent down the slide in five heats. The top five in each heat advanced to the final round.
The top prize of $500 went to Ann Leland. Other winners were: second place, Allie Wilberding, a V.I.P. pass to the Regatta; third place, Joni Lanham, Ribberfest wristbands; fourth place, Dave Nickels, a Crystal and Jules gift card; fifth place, Gina Freeman, a Harry's Stone Grill gift card. All proceeds from the sale of the ducks go toward the city's senior citizen and youth programs. Tonight's Festival events include the waterball fight at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Courthouse. The showing of the movie "Madison" has been postponed to Wednesday at dusk at Bicentennial Park. The Madison Community Band Concert will still be held at 7:30 p.m., but it has been moved to the Brown Gym. (Staff photos by Steve Dickersonemail@example.com)
