Attempted robbery forces lockdown
Friday, September 13, 2013 11:00 AM
Southwestern Schools were locked down Thursday morning after a nearby attempted robbery.
Hanover Police Chief Ron Kroger said the incident occurred next to the Circle K gas station on LaGrange Road.
"We had a subject contact us and say he had someone on foot approach his vehicle near Circle K and ask him for all of his money," Kroger said.
The subject fled before police arrived. No money was taken.
Southwestern Schools Superintendent Steve Telfer said school personnel heard about the attempted robbery at about 7:35 a.m. and the schools were locked down.
"We were concerned about the safety of our students and teachers," he said.
