Carroll County man charged in son's death

Kentucky State Police arrested a Carroll County man Friday on a charge of murder after the death of his 2-year-old son.
Douglas Allen, 26, of Ghent, was arrested in connection with the Feb. 19 death of the child, a KSP release said.
Police detectives allege that Allen gave his son prescription drugs the night before the child's death.
Amanda Foster, the child's mother and Allen's girlfriend, had called dispatchers around 6:45 a.m. on Feb. 19. She reported finding her son, Bradley James Allen, dead in his bed.
A toxicology report showed the boy had "extremely high" levels of oxycodone in his system at the time of his death, the release said.
After speaking with Douglas Allen, state police believe the man gave his son the narcotic on the night of Feb. 18, which led to the child's death.
Douglas Allen was arrested at KSP Post 5 in Campbellsburg. He is lodged in the Carroll County Detention Center in Carrollton.
