Three Rivers District Health Department plans to host a six-week class to help participants learn how to manage chronic diseases.

The chronic disease self-management course will address anxiety, arthritis, asthma, cancer, chronic pain, congestive heat failure, depression, diabetes, heart disease, heartburn and acid reflux, hepatitis, HIV disease, high blood pressure and lung disease issues.

Management skills covered throughout the course will include: pain management, fatigue management, breathing techniques, relaxation and managing emotions, nutrition, exercise and medications.

Classes will be held at the Carroll County Health Center, 401 Eleventh Street in Carrollton beginning on July 9 and will continue through August 13. Classes will take place each Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
