The warm, dry weather this week has helped work continue on projects at the Trimble County and Carroll County schools.
On Tuesday, excavators and dump trucks continued to reshape the area behind Trimble County High School, top, for the second phase of the district's athletic field project. The $2.26 million project will include a new football field, track and field facilities, bleachers, lighting and concession stand.
In Carrollton, several pieces of heavy machinery, bottom, have been used to begin prepping the area just south of the Carroll County Middle School gymnasium for a new gym, which is part of the $7.7 million renovation project at the middle school. That project also includes turning the current gymnasium space into classrooms and a band room, building a gym lobby, outdoor classroom space and a bus area in the back of the building.
