Downtown hospital to be senior living facility
Friday, January 25, 2013 6:00 AM
King's Daughters' Health announced late this morning that Trilogy Health Services will purchase the downtown hospital and convert it into a senior living facility.
The facility is expected to create between 100 and 120 jobs.
According to a release from KDH, Trilogy will take over the hospital April 1. Renovations will cost between $3 and $4 million.
Trilogy owns Thornton Terrace in Hanover.
KDH is scheduled to open its new hilltop facility on Feb. 23.
"We look forward to developing this new Trilogy community and to serving seniors in Madison at our new location," Trilogy President Randall Bufford said in a release.
"Our commitment to a servant leadership culture and our dedication to providing exceptional customer service that exceeds our customers' expectations are cornerstones of Trilogy's operating philosophies.
Roger Allman, CEO of KDH, said the sale accomplishes three major goals.
"First, it provides additional health services in the greater Madison community. Second, it provides economic growth in Jefferson County and creates additional job opportunities. Third, it allows the current hospital structure to be utilized an maintained," Allman said in a release.
For more information on the sale of the downtown hospital, see full details in Saturday's Madison Courier or visit the Courier Online at www.madisoncourier.com.
