Flu causes KDH to limit visitors
Saturday, January 19, 2013 3:59 AM
King's Daughters' Hospital on Friday afternoon announced it was limiting patient visitations because of the flu outbreak.
The hospital asks that only immediate family members visit patients.
Dave Ommen, a spokesman for KDH, said hospital officials made the decision Friday afternoon because of the growing number of local influenza cases.
"If someone is sick or not feeling well, we're asking that they not come visit," Ommen said.
The restriction will remain in effect throughout the weekend. The situation will be re-evaluated on Monday whether to keep the restriction in place.
"It's always an ongoing process," Ommen said. When asked Friday morning, KDH had not yet initiated an restrictions.
Flyers will be posted on the entrances to the hospital to alert visitors of the patient visitation restrictions.
