The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about break-ins of vehicles at two Carroll County motels.
Several guests at the Holiday Inn Express and the Hampton Inn near Interstate 71 in Carrollton reported vehicle break-ins this month. The first break-in was reported Oct. 7. Three vehicles had been damaged between 6 p.m. Oct. 6 and 8 a.m. Oct. 7.
A 2006 Ford F-350, a Ford F-150 and a Ford Edge SUV had windows broken or a damaged door handle from someone gaining entry to the vehicles. A suitcase and $20 in quarters were taken from one truck. Nothing was taken from the other two vehicles.
Another incident was reported Oct. 7. More than $8,000 worth of items were taken from a vehicle at Hampton Inn, including a laptop and case, a suitcase, cash, a Prada purse, credit cards, a Social Security card and a cell phone. Police tracked the credit cards and received video surveillance footage of three males, who are suspects in both cases.
Carroll County Deputy Sheriff Daniel Rose is investigating the break-ins.
