Starting today, The Madison Courier will publish the results of health inspections of all restaurants or locations that offer food in the county. The inspections are conducted by the Jefferson County Health Department.

Health inspection reports become public record 10 days after an inspection takes place.

The documents highlight critical, noncritical and repeat violations during each inspection or follow-up. Critical violations are listed.

All records are supplied by the Jefferson County Health Department, which can be reached at (812) 273-1942.

The inspection reports will be published as they are received from the health department. The reports will be on the News of Record page.
