ILLEGAL BURN SPARKS FIELD FIRE
Monday, March 17, 2014 11:00 AM
A fire burned several acres Saturday after an illegal burn spread toward a line of trees in Trimble County. Fire units responded to the 1100 block of Buck Creek Road in Bedford around 2:15 p.m. after dispatchers received reports of a field fire. The fire had already spread to several acres when crews arrived on scene, Milton Fire Chief Jason Long said. Crews worked several hours to extinguish the fire that had begun after an illegal burn spread from another area on the property. The fire burned about 10 to 15 acres of brush and trees, Long said. Milton and Bedford fire crews responded to the scene along with Westside and Campbellsburg fire departments. The Kentucky Division of Forestry and Trimble County EMS also responded to the scene.
