MLK observance is Jan. 21

Madison's Martin Luther King Day celebration will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21 at Trinity United Methodist Church.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature a video highlighting some of King's famous speeches and marches as well as music provided by Neal Lewis and Karen Norris.
The Rev. Ron L. Norris, pastor of St. Stephen Community African Methodist Episcopal Church in Hanover, will be the keynote speaker at the event.
Norris has served as an ordained pastor for more than 25 years in Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota and has been a board member for the Indiana Association of College Admission Counselors, Ivy Tech State College Regional Board, Richmond Indiana NAACP, Union County Bank, Wayne County Foundation and Reid Hospital. Norris has also received the Governor's Kentucky Colonel Community Service award.
The program will run from noon to 1 p.m. for those who would like to attend during their lunch hour. Afterwards, lunch will be provided by the Jen-Era-Jeff No. 44 Order of Eastern Stars.
