Man arrested after Madison to Deputy chase
Wednesday, November 21, 2012 10:00 AM
Police arrested a Lexington man Monday after he led them on a chase through downtown Madison to Deputy.
Kevin D. Aldridge, 30, was stopped on Elm Street after he was seen driving the wrong way down the one-way portion of West Second Street, Chief Dan Thurston said.
After talking with police, Aldridge ran around the block before getting back to his car and took off on Elm Street, police said.
Aldridge went west on Vaughn Drive, north on Vernon Street and west on Main Street heading out of town, Thurston said. He then went west on State Road 256, Thurston said, and nearly collided with another vehicle while making the turn.
He headed north on Grange Hall Road, west on Deputy Pike and north on Sage Lane, where he pulled into a driveway and stopped, police said. He was taken into custody without further incident. Thurston said police found a small bag of marijuana in the vehicle.
Aldridge was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement on foot, resisting law enforcement in a vehicle, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and driving while license suspended.
