Man died of heart attack before vehicle crashed

A Switzerland County man died of a heart attack Saturday before his vehicle crashed about three miles east of Vevay.
Officers responded to the one-vehicle accident on State Road 156 around 4:30 p.m. William Beach, 62, of Vevay, was found unresponsive at the scene of the accident and was later pronounced dead, according to a news release from the Switzerland County Sheriff's Department.
The preliminary autopsy report showed Beach died of a heart attack prior to the accident, the release said.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Switzerland County Sheriff's Office assisted by Switzerland County Coroner's Office.
Other units assisting at the scene were Indiana State Police, Vevay Police Department, East Enterprise Fire Department and Switzerland County EMS.
