A short high-speed pursuit in Carrollton led to the arrest of a Mississippi man wanted for vehicle hijacking in another state.
Lukas A. Lambert, 22, of McLain, Miss., was traveling at a high rate of speed on KY 227 at approximately 1:35 p.m. on Nov. 11. Carrollton Police Officer Daniel Embry had passed Lambert while he was speeding, turned his cruiser around and activated lights and sirens to make a traffic stop.
Lambert continued to travel at high rates of speed, reaching 100 mph from the General Butler State Resort Park to the entrance and exit ramps of Interstate 71, where Lambert finally stopped his vehicle, police said.
A 16-year-old Carrollton girl was a passenger in the vehicle, but she was not injured during the pursuit.
Lambert was charged with fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment and possession of synthetic cannabinoid. He is lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.
