One man was airlifted to a Louisville hospital for his injuries after a two-vehicle accident on Sunday.
Robert Jones of Bedford was transported to the University of Louisville hospital after his truck was struck in the driver's side door by another vehicle driven by Alex Cavenee of Bedford, Milton Fire Chief Jason Long said. Cavenee had been traveling northbound on U.S. 421 when he attempted to make a turn into the Midway Stop and Go gas station when he hit a southbound vehicle driven by Jones around 6:35 p.m.
Milton and Bedford Fire units had to extricate Jones from his vehicle after the collision. After the extrication, Air Methods KY-11 transported Jones to U of L with non-life threatening injuries. Cavenee was treated for injuries at the scene and released.
The accident closed U.S. 421 to traffic for almost 90 minutes while emergency crews assisted on scene.
Milton and Bedford Fire units were assisted at the scene by Air Methods KY-11, Trimble County EMS and Kentucky State Police.
