Parks board votes to hold 2013 fees
Friday, December 21, 2012 10:00 AM
Madison Parks Board members on Thursday voted to maintain the current fees for next year.
The board voted unanimously to keep general admission at the pool at $4 per person, hourly rates at the Brown Gym at $30, and rider fees at Sunrise Golf Course at $8. Parks director Dave Stucker said some league fees for people from outside the city could change after the first of the year.
Stucker also announced that the gazebo from the campground has been moved to Lytle Park on a temporary basis. The city received a complaint earlier this month about the project not being completed yet, Stucker said, so the decision was made to bring the gazebo in.
The city still hopes to have the building trades students from Madison Consolidated High School build a permanent structure.
"I think this is probably a temporary fix for now," Stucker said.
Stucker also told board members that a chair lift for Crystal Beach, which is required by the federal government to become ADA compliant, would cost between $7,000 and $10,000.
A decision will likely be made in the coming months. Without the lift, the pool will not be able to open next year.
"This is a must for 2013," Stucker said.
