STUCK IN THE MUD
Tuesday, August 20, 2013 11:00 AM
A 25-foot house boat remains stuck in the mud on the Madison side of the Ohio River. According to the Madison Sewer and Street Department, the boat owner reported that he anchored the vessel east of the Madison boat ramp Saturday. Overnight the river's level dropped and the boat drifted ashore. The department said the owner is still pursuing options on how to pull the boat off the shore. Correction: This is my boat and it is 41 feet long. I pulled ashore on Friday evening with a swift current and high water level. Saturday morning, the water level had dropped so much that my boat was beached. There was no drifting. I have asked the Walsh bridge crew to help me on Thursday if possible.
