Madison police arrested a man Wednesday after receiving information that a stolen truck had been painted a new color.

Police received a report of a stolen vehicle Feb. 2, when two people left Berry R. Whicker, 34, in the Chevrolet S10 pick-up to go into a store, Chief Dan Thurston said.

Thurston said officers later received a tip that the truck was seen in Woodside Mobile Home Park and spotted on Clifty Drive, only then it was painted a different color.

Whicker was arrested on charges of unauthorized control of a motor vehicle and driving while license suspended with a prior conviction.
