TIF Board to hold public bidding for water project
Courier Staff Report

The Madison Redevelopment Commission voted Wednesday to move forward with a public bidding process for a waterline that was recently amended into the economic development plan for the Madison's hilltop, commonly called the North Madison Economic Development Area.
Phase one of the water line will go along Dawson Smith Road from Michigan Road to Shun Pike.
The commission, also called the TIF board, asked Mayoral Aide Bob Cooke to explore bidding the project out in phases, or at the same time.
The board looked at options to either receive quotes for the first 1,600 feet of the project or bid out the full 5,800 feet of the project.
The board voted unanimously to begin a bidding process for the full project as long as the estimates don't exceed Cooke's estimates of about $300,000 for the waterline.
"It's a bid, so we might be able to do better," Cooke said.
