TIF board discusses hilltop water line
Thursday, August 22, 2013 11:00 AM
The Madison Redevelopment Commission, also called the TIF board, met briefly Wednesday to discuss plans for a waterline that was recently amended into the TIF board's economic development plan for the North Madison Economic Development Area.
Phase one of the water line will go along Dawson Smith Road from Michigan Road to Shun Pike.
Mayoral aide Bob Cooke said that stretch would cover about 30 percent of the waterline.
The board asked Cooke to explore bidding the project out in phases, or all at once.
Cooke said the beginning of phase one of the water line was in conjunction with Madison Precision Products construction plan. The company, Cooke said, has agreed to provide property to the city for a future water tower on the eastern side of Michigan Road.
