A 13-year-old juvenile was arrested Thursday at Madison Junior High School after police said he punched another student in the face.

The juvenile, who is from Madison, was making fun of another student and bullying him, according to Chief Dan Thurston. The boy who was being bullied told the juvenile to stop, but was then punched by the juvenile a couple times, Thurston said.

The juvenile was already on probation for a prior offense, police said.

He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail to await transportation to the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center.
